To help my students become successful in reaching all of their health and fitness goals I continually review these 5 secrets with them.
Here they are …
Secret #1 – Manage Your Time: Without knowing how to apply this secret, you’ll never even get off the ground. You have got to be able to carve out time for yourself. No one else will do it for you! You’ve got to make yourself more important than all the distractions. Remember this, if you don’t change your direction you’ll definitely end up where you are heading.
Secret #2 – Disciplined Mindset: Your mindset is SO important. Without a clear picture of what you want and the motivation and discipline to accomplish it – well it won’t happen. To attain your goals you have to constantly keep your thoughts in check. Negativity, fear, doubt and old habits often die hard, that is why mediation is also very important; it clears negative thoughts and gives you access to your higher self and your inner-drive.
Secret #3 – Consistency: This one is a Golden Secret. After 25 years of training and teaching I will boldly say that without consistency you’ll never reach your goals. Consistency must also embrace patience, because without patience you won’t be able to handle the plateaus. In reality there aren’t really plateaus, because if you’re consistent then you are always growing – it’s just that you just can’t always “see” the growth. Just stay on track!
Secret #4 – Make it a Way of Life: Remember this, the most successful athletes make their training a Way of Life. In the beginning of your health and fitness journey you will definitely see some very quick results. There will however be plateaus … they hit all of us at some point. The core truth though … results that will mean the most to you, like self discipline, self respect and inner-transformation, they will happen to you gradually over time. If you want profound long-lasting changes in your life then I suggest that you stay the course and embrace your training as a Way of Life.

Thanks for these reminders that help each of us stay on track. It was difficult to stay on track with all of the above yesterday due to the migraine I had, but I did take good care of myself – drinking lots of water to flush out whatever may have caused the headache. Used a heating pad and ice pack and while resting – used my Qigong skills to send healing energy into my body, especially my head.
I love being consistent with my workouts, but there was no way to come to the Dojo last night! I did some clearing of my negative thoughts about the pain and about not working out………
Even though I am still not on top of my game, so to say, I am feeling much better today – still drinking lots of water, using the heating pad on my neck and shoulders and meditation was beautiful this morning. It was actually cool outside at 7:00 am.
